An Elite Grub in PB:FTTP.

The Elite Grub first appears in Level 8 of the Plazma Burst: Forward to the Past campaign. Elite Grubs are more powerful variants of both the Grub and the Armored Grub, and can be seen in levels 8 and 10 of Plazma Burst: Forward to the Past. They only wield Arm Cannons, which have multiple variants.

Like the Armored Grubs, these Grubs are completely silver/gray in color with the exception of some areas such on the chest, legs and the visor. They have a silver mouth guard with three ventilation or speaking slots. They have a backpack similar to that of the other Grubs, but this one does not feature an antenna like the normal Grub. Like the Armored Grub, the Elite Grub appears to have many robotic parts implanted into its body.

Weapons variety

Arm Cannon

Like the other Grubs, these appear to only be capable of carrying the Arm Cannon. When first encountered in level 8, the Elite Grub is seen carrying the rocket launcher variant of the Arm Cannon, and then can be seen in level 10 carrying a Ray Rifle variant of the Arm Cannon.

Voice lines

The Elite shares its voice lines with the Grub and the Armored Grub. It is possible the Grubs are voiced by Ruslan Chertenkov, however this is no longer confirmable.

Trivia

• Elite Grubs seem to be meant for fighting, unlike their weaker counterparts.
• Like normal Grubs, they will attack Human Soldiers if they see the Marine at the same time but not in level 7 and level 8, likely due to poor programming, theoretically being allies with the Falkoks or some other reasons.
• Elite Grubs were added to Plazma Burst 2 as part of version 1.28.
• Prior to version 1.32, these units did not have a unique name in Plazma Burst 2, and the level editor simply referred to them as "Armored Grub Red."
